About Seinberg.net
Defined:
1: about or relating to Seinfeld and Spielberg, that is, Sein[feld][Spiel]berg, or in a more general sense, having absolutely nothing to do with the aforementioned individuals except in name
2: website of a 20-something, the name spawned whilst day-dreaming in an undergraduate Philosophy class entitled Thanatopsis: Death and Dying (perhaps I don't have the neurotic fortitude of Woody Allen to focus all my attention on dying)
3: weird, I know, but what person's old college AIM/internet handle isn't? What can I say - it stuck.
Photography
My primary interests in photography are HDR (High Dynamic Range), Urban Decay, and Travel Photography.
The most intriguing subject for me (by far) and the subject of most of my photography is evidence of human activity absent of actual human presence. This is most viscerally portrayed in scenes of urban decay, the remaining bits of scenes that tell so much about its past yet pose only more questions. My goal is to capture the feelings of mystery, sadness, excitement, intrigue, and anything else that an individual experiences in the presence of such evidence.
I shoot basically only with Canons, partially out of chance that I chose a Canon instead of a Nikon as my first camera before I knew what I was looking at, but also because Canon actually does make really good equipment. Currently I use an EOS 40D and several lenses: Canon EF-S 10-22mm USM, a Canon EF 24-105mm IS USM, a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Prime, and finally a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens.
Buying prints
I sell prints through ImageKind, which sells both prints and frames. I've ordered many of both from the site and can confirm that the quality is top-notch. You can choose from a variety of paper types, and view what it will look like in various frames and mats in real-time. The link to my gallery is at seinberg.imagekind.com.
Professional
I'm primarily a Java/J2EE programmer, though I have done a significant amount of freelance work in the open-source web development stack: PHP, MySQL, and Linux. I've also been digging deeper into AJAX, Object-oriented JavaScript, and the semantic web over the past year. I'm located in Baltimore, Maryland, where I'm a Computer Science graduate student at UMBC, a full-time Java/J2EE programmer, and an independent programming consultant. See Java / Programming for more details.
